Sustainability in Action: AES’s Commitment to a Greener Aviation Industry
Driving Circular Economy & Sustainable GSE Services
The aviation industry faces increasing pressure to reduce its environmental footprint. At AES, sustainability is more than a responsibility, it’s at the core of how we operate. Through our high-quality refurbishment, maintenance, electrification, and fleet management services, we extend the lifespan of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), reducing waste, cutting emissions, and optimizing costs for airports and ground handlers.
As part of our commitment, we actively integrate circular economy principles, minimize resource consumption, and promote responsible business practices to support a more sustainable future for aviation.
Reducing Our Environmental Impact
We take concrete actions to minimize our footprint and promote sustainable practices across the industry.
Extending Equipment Lifespan & Cutting Waste: Our high-quality maintenance and refurbishment services help airports and ground handlers operate more efficiently while significantly reducing their environmental footprint. With the refurbishment capabilities of our EcoTech Centers, we give a new life to GSE, prioritizing reuse of a GSE over its replacement, minimizing resource consumption and landfill waste.
Electric conversion: Beyond refurbishment, AES EcoTech Centers also supports the transition to electric GSE. By converting existing diesel-powered units to electric or helping customers integrate battery-powered GSE into their fleet, we reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and contribute to greener ramp operations.
Responsible Waste & Resource Management: We ensure proper handling, recycling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Our approach focuses on sourcing sustainable materials and implementing circular economy strategies whenever possible.
Commitment to the UN Global Compact: As part of the Alvest Group, AES is aligned with global sustainability initiatives, including the United Nations Global Compact, supporting key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Responsible Consumption (SDG 12), Climate Action (SDG 13) and Life on Land (SDG 15).
Alvest ESG Report: Our sustainability efforts are detailed in the Alvest ESG Report, which outlines our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
Social Commitment & Responsibility
Sustainability isn’t just about the environment, it’s also about people.
- People-First: Our employees are at the heart of AES. We foster an environment where every team member can grow, excel, and feel valued—both professionally and personally.
Strong relationships, built on trust, shared values, and teamwork, shape our company culture. But our impact extends beyond our teams.
