Alvest Group, of which AES is part, has received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, confirming their alignment with climate science.
Alvest commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 27% by 2031 from a 2025 base year, and Scope 3 GHG emissions intensity by 56% per EUR value added by 2031 from a 2023 base year.
Progress is already measurable: Scope 3 emissions intensity has decreased by 27% since 2023, and electric equipment now represents nearly half of the GSE units sold across the group.
